Our Mission

Our mission is to provide shelter, food, veterinary care—all of our dogs are spayed or neutered—and love until our rescues are healthy and socialized enough to be adopted. As Edisto's only nonprofit "no-kill," all-volunteer canine rescue, we are devoted to helping stray and found dogs on the Island and nearby communities.

About Us

Every day, we rescue stray and found dogs on Edisto Island and in neighboring Colleton and Charleston County communities and then provide shelter, food, vet care, and, most importantly, love until our rescued dogs are healthy and socialized enough to be adopted.

All of our rescues receive basic veterinary care, including an initial exam, vaccinations and spay/neuter surgery, but many have additional healthcare needs that might require medications, treatment for heartworms and sometimes even surgery.

We are almost entirely staffed by volunteers, who treat our rescued pups as their own pets.  At least twice a day, we walk, feed, play with, and train all of our rescues.  We make sure that their roomy kennels are as comfortable as possible, take them on "play dates" and to their vet appointments and try to ensure they are ready for that special forever home.
